Taking The Keto Low Carb Challenge

Having signed up with Diet Doctor again (because it did work for me previously), i've decided to try and get back into the healthy Keto way of eating. I choose to do this as it has been the only way of eating that i find agrees with me. It helped me regain control of my Diabetes and loose weight.
This isn't for everyone so i would totally recommend that if you are considering following this way of eating, run it by your Doctor or Diabetes Team first. Luckily for me my Diabetes Team are fully on board with me eating this way.
So, i have just finished printing out my first weeks menu of meals and my shopping list. One of the great things about this Keto Challenge is that you can look at the list of recommended meals and if there is anything on there that you don't like you can change that meal for another from the huge list of meals.
My shopping list has come to around £55.00 for 2 people for 1 week, which is just over half of what i usually spend a week on food shopping!! (Hubby gonna be pleased with this).
This means that this weekend i will be purging through all my cupboards/fridge/freezer and getting rid of everything that i will no longer need for my new way of eating.....bread/pasta/rice/crisps/chocolate/biscuits............OMG that is just about everything :(
OK....deep breath.......i am going to be ok...........i will get through this.
If i remember it is usually the first week that is the toughest, you get these symptoms (carb flu) i suppose its like withdrawal symptoms from the carbs and sugar overload. I'm expecting headaches, tiredness and generally just feeling shite!! I also remember that it didn't last long and afterwards i felt great.
I'm trying to hold onto that memory of feeling great as i know i will need all the help i can get to kick myself up the behind to persevere with this initial stage.
I've decided my journey will begin on Sunday only because that is the day the Keto Challenge recommends.
